After winning the toss and electing to bat, Mumbai were off to a pretty good start even though they lost Bravo(5) in the 2nd over. Jayasuriya took 30 runs off 17 balls and Duminy contributed 62 runs. Abhishek Nayar remained not out at 33. For Chennai, SK Raina took the valuable wicket of Tendulkar and conceded only 22 runs in 4 overs. Mumbai got an early break when they got a wicket in the first ball of the Chennai innings when Patel was caught lbw by Malinga. But Mathew Hayden anchored himself in the crease and remained unbeaten at 60. Raina and Badrinath took 20 and 22 runs respectively and Dhoni finished the job remaining not out at 23. For Mumbai, Malinga bowled 4 overs giving away only 19 runs and taking a wicket. However, Kulkarni proved very expensive, conceding 45 runs in 4 overs. Chennai Super Kings reached 151/3 in 19.1 overs. Mumbai are now at the bottom of the table, just above Kolkata and they are almost out of the IPL tournament. Mathew Hayden was named Man of the Match for his unbeaten 60 runs.
