Delhi Daredevils beat Kings XI Punjab by 10 wickets via Duckworth Lewis method in a rain truncated Indian Premier League match at Cape Town on Sunday.
Kings XI Punjab set a victory target of 105 runs, which was reduced to 54 runs in 6 overs after the rain interruption, which was achieved easily in 4.5 overs. Delhi Daredevils captain Virender Sehwag finished the match with a six over long on to remain unbeaten on 38 that came off 16 balls with the help of 3 sixes and 4 fours, while his opening partner Gautam Gambhir smashed 2 fours to score 15 runs off 13 balls.
Delhi Daredevils were 24/0 in 1.5 overs in pursuit of 105 when rain stopped play. Earlier, Kings XI Punjab scored 104/7 in their 12 overs after put in to bat by Sehwag. After a delay of an hour and 40 minutes due to rain, play finally started after Delhi Daredevils captain Virender Sehwag won the toss and elected to bowl first.
The match was first reduced to 14 overs and then to 12 overs.
