DD v RR, Match 18: Undefeated Pathan powers Rajasthan to IPL victory

Yusuf Pathan clobbered an unbeaten half-century as the Rajasthan Royals got their stuttering campaign back on course by defeating the Delhi Daredevils by five wickets in an Indian Premier League fixture at the Centurion.
AB de Villiers' half-century was the highlight off a relatively unspectacular Daredevils batting card, his knock helping Virender Sehwag's side finish with an unflattering 143 for seven. Leg-spinner Amit Mishra then kept the Daredevils in with a chance as he wrecked the Royals' middle-order with three quick wickets, the Royals crashing to 64 for five, but Smith played a steady hand and Yusuf's whirlwind knock eventually turned the game the Royals' way.
Rajasthan needed 48 off the last five overs, but fluent batting from Smith (unbeaten on 44) and Pathan (62 from 30 deliveries) kept the run rate from burgeoning. Yusuf then clobbered Mishra for a six and a four off consecutive deliveries in the leg-spinner's final over - in which he conceded 18 runs - as the Royals were left needing less than a run a ball from the last three overs.
Yusuf eventually finished off the game with a boundary, helping his side over the line with 1.3 overs to spare.
