KK v RR Match 53 - May 20: Kolkata upset Rajasthan and win 2nd consecutive match

Rajasthan Royals were unable to beat the Kolkata Knight Riders in their final league match today and are now out of the IPL tournament. Rajasthan seemed off to a good start, getting 21 runs in the first over. But after they lost the wicket of Ojha in the second over, the Rajasthan batting line up tumbled down and they managed to gather a meagre total of 101/9. For Kolkata, Langeveldt took 3 wickets giving away only 15 runs. Kolkata got a huge blow in the first over when Ganguly was caught by Jadeja off Patel's ball before he could score any runs. Kolkata lost wickets at regular intervals till the 11th over when they were at 45/6. Shukla was the pillar for Kolkata and he took the Knight Riders to a 4 wicket win over the Rajasthan Royals with his unbeaten 48 runs. Kolkata reached 102/6 in 19.3 overs. They have now won 2 consecutive matches in a row and even though Kolkata are not going to make it into the semis, they sure are important players in determining which 4 teams do get to play in the semi finals. Shukla was named Man of the Match for his unbeaten 48 runs.
