CSK v RCB, Match 5: Massive win for Chennai Super Kings

Matthew Hayden hit 65 off 35 balls and man-of-the-match Muttiah Muralitharan claimed 3-11 on Monday to lead the Chennai Super Kings to a 92-run victory over the Bangalore Royal Challengers in the Indian Premier League.
Set a daunting target of 180, Bangalore slumped to 87 all out after Hayden's aggressive stroke play - which included nine fours and two sixes - put Chennai in charge. Bowling beautifully on a turning pitch, the Sri Lankan spin master had Robin Uthappa (20) stumped by wicketkeeper Dhoni, trapped Bangalore captain Kevin Pietersen leg before for a first-ball duck and had Rajesh Bishnoi (0) caught by Lakshmipathy Balaji.
Bangalore had struggled from the onset as they sought to chase the highest score so far in the tournament and lost their first wicket in the very first over as Praveen Kumar (0) - who opened both the bowling and batting for Bangalore - was bowled by Manpreet Gony. Jacques Kallis took advantage of some wayward bowling by the Chennai seamers to give a semblance of respectability to Bangalore's innings, hitting five fours on his way to his 24, before being caught lbw by a full length delivery from Albie Morkel. Robin Uthappa (20), Rahul Dravid (20) and Virat Kohli (11) were the only other Bangalore batsmen to reach double figures.
Earlier, Chennai's openers laid a solid foundation with Hayden and Parthiv Patel (30) putting on 106 in 10 overs for the first wicket. Fast bowler Praveen Kumar was the pick of the Bangalore bowlers taking 2-37.
Pietersen introduced himself into the attack in the 11th over and bowled Patel with his first delivery, then had Hayden run out by a direct throw from Rahul Dravid after new batsman Suresh Raina attempted a quick single.
